He wants me to do the whole thing this time around,” Timbaland said Monday during a visit to the MTV News office. “I’mma make it a classic too. You better believe it. It’ll be a monster! I always say this: You get a first single from me, I’mma get you up to gold. And it’s hard to get you up to gold in this day [and age].” [FULL STORY: MTV]
If Timbaland was to produce all of Jay-Z’s next album i hope it is not all club bangers like “big pimpin” because although that song is a classic that is not all what people want to hear from Jay-Z especially at his age. Concept albums should be on Jay’s mind instead…

The untitled 50 Cent project is an elimination reality show following 16 contestants as they compete to learn and master the skills that took 50 Cent from the streets to corporate America. 50 Cent finally gets a TV Show. Im not really a big fan of these reality shows that rap artists get (cuz usually they are wack) but what Fiddy and MTV seem to be planning sounds interesting. I also wana give props to 50 Cent for actually giving a full business program scholar ship as a winning prize. When more information on the show is available i will keep you guys updated.

Last week we posted the BET/MTV version of their video for their first single “I Like The Way She Do It” on 1VIBE. During an interview on 106 and Park where they debuted their first single of their new album “T.O.S.” Fiddy talked about the censorship that MTV requires for music videos. So this video is basically the version you will not see on TV. Check more on G-Unit below.

MTV has just revealed their complete list of the Hottest MCs in the Game right now in 2008 (according to them). To Me i think Kanye and Jay-Z should definitely be on the top five but what’s missing is 50 Cent. Damn i mean other than the fact that Rick Ross was named number 4.. i think MTV has done a pretty good job as far as getting a list of the 10 hottest MCs. Now as far as the order that the MCs were ranked in.. i think MTV needs to work on that a bit.
Click on each name to read the full MTV rundown:
1. Kanye West
2. Jay-Z
3. Lil Wayne
4. Rick Ross
5. Snoop Dogg
6. 50 Cent

Damn these Filipino boizz (and one black dude) really killed this! I mean they truly put it down and let it all out right there with that performance. Speaking of dance… 1VIBE will be showcasing some of our own talented dancers out there from UOIT/DURHAM College and T.DOT. So be on the lookout for that. (Read below for more info on America’s Best Dance Crew Show)

MTV’s Mixtape Monday reports that Fab is planning a concept album (similar to what Jay-Z did with “American Gangster”). His take on it is that creating a concept album makes things move faster (writing the songs, and producing the content). More on the actual MTV Report below:
“I’mma put a theme together and just go off of that theme,” he said. “Sometimes producers get lost trying to figure out what they think is the best type of sh– for Fab. [They say,] ‘I got this commercial joint for you.’ So what I’m doing now, I seen a movie I want to theme the album after. Even take certain lines, different scenes out of the movie and make music behind that. At the same time, I can have the producer check the movie out, and he’ll have something he can take away from the movie and come back with some joints. I wanted to try that this time.”
“What Jay-Z did [with ‘American Gangster’] … he took that Frank Lucas character and put it in the frame of his Jay character,” Fab opined. “That’s what I wanna do. I don’t wanna say I that I’m actually the character, but take some of his scenarios or some things I went through and tell it in my tone.”
